As elections approach in Somalia, alshabab increased its deadly attacks against the government and CSOs e.g. HRDs in Somalia in order to undermine the progress of state building and democracy in Somalia.
Consequently number of HRDs at risk increased given the dire security situation in Somalia, where HRDs are easy targets for both alshabab and warlords running federal member states of the federal of government of Somalia.
